Finished up some placeholder menu visuals started on Saturday, and worked on background visuals. It feels like "oh no I'm getting sidetracked on an unimportant thing!" but I think the way the game needs to read at a glance is important enough that pinning down visual goals early actually is important.

The menu won't be a big focus immediately, but we have buttons now!

The background will be a big deal. I prefer the look of a light/white background but that seems "blinding", and there needs to be some sort of board with boundaries. This is nowhere near final and will be continually tweaked as more is learnt. I think the next step will be to try having the dynamic background just comprise the board, and have the rest of the background remain white.
